Who is Garth Patterson?
Garth Patterson is a Director and co-owner of Doherty Plumbing Solutions, a fully licensed plumber with a Cert IV in Plumbing and over 20 years’ experience. He specialises in maintenance plumbing, blocked drains and gas work, bringing a background across Australia’s mining and gas infrastructure to Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
EXPERIENCE
20+ years in the trade
Garth completed his plumbing apprenticeship in Marlo, in Victoria’s east, before spending years travelling across Australia working on mining and gas infrastructure projects. That work gave him a depth of technical knowledge you don’t get from residential jobs alone.
He’s a fully licensed plumber with a Cert IV in Plumbing and over 20 years in the trade. Today Garth co-owns and helps run Doherty Plumbing Solutions — a family business serving Melbourne’s eastern suburbs for nearly 40 years — and leads much of the maintenance and technical side of the work.

Certificate IV in Plumbing.
20+ years’ experience — apprenticeship completed in Marlo; background across mining and gas infrastructure Australia-wide.

Garth is a natural problem-solver — what he enjoys most is getting to the bottom of a tricky plumbing issue and helping the customer out the other side. That calm, methodical approach, backed by deep trade knowledge, is exactly why he’s the one trusted with the more technical jobs.
