Who is Brett Ward?
Brett Ward is a Director and co-owner of Doherty Plumbing Solutions, a licensed plumber with over 20 years’ experience across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. He specialises in maintenance plumbing, renovations and blocked drains, and is a member of Master Plumbers and Backflow Australia.
EXPERIENCE
20+ years in the trade
Brett started his plumbing apprenticeship in 2003 and has spent more than 20 years in the trade, covering everything from everyday maintenance and repairs to renovations and civil works. Along the way, he’s run his own plumbing business for over a decade, giving him a rare mix of hands-on skill and a genuine understanding of what customers want.
Today Brett co-owns and helps run Doherty Plumbing Solutions, a family business that’s served Melbourne’s eastern suburbs for nearly 40 years. He’s as comfortable on the tools as he is looking after the business, and still spends much of his week out on jobs across the east.

Brett’s work is defined by attention to detail and honest, straightforward advice. He’d rather explain the real problem and fix it properly than upsell a customer, and it’s that friendly, no-nonsense approach that keeps people calling him back. What he enjoys most is the variety — moving from job to job, never in one place too long, and getting to talk with the customers he’s helping.
