Household tap repair – plumbing Blackburn
The Doherty Plumbing Solutions team received a call from a Blackburn resident, who required a tap repair. The front garden tap was leaking. Our trustworthy plumber George attended the residence promptly, to assist the customer.
He noticed the constant dripping, as the tap washer had failed. George replaced the faulty tap washer resolving the leak.
Then he noted a new plumbing issue, which was not previously apparent. The rainwater tank pump was failing!
George discussed the options with the customer, and a new replacement tank pump was supplied and fitted by us – a Pedrollo MHR20 model. To suit this new pump connection, we also upgraded the existing copper pipework – fitting new valves at the mains supply to help isolate in the future, if required.
All the connected taps and the new pump were tested. Everything was working well with no leaks.
Commercial tap repair – plumbing South Melbourne
Our customer at a South Melbourne pasta bar notified the Doherty Plumbing Solutions office of a leaking commercial tap in their kitchen.
George was sent out and located the leak on the pot filler spout, the washer kit had worn out. The first challenge was to stop water loss from the leak. He installed a temporary washer, which kept the tap in working order.
A specific replacement part was needed for this particular model of tap, which our team ordered and supplied for the customer. Within days, we returned to replace the temporary washer with the new kit for the pot filler tap handle.
The set-up was water-tested again, and it was back working superbly.
On an additional request from the customer, George fitted new waste plugs. These would prevent blockage in the pipelines down the track.
