Doherty Plumbing Solutions received an anxious call from a Forest Hill customer needing urgent roof leak repair after water began seeping into their walk-in wardrobe and causing damage.
Tim, from our team, assisted the customer promptly. He assessed the metal roof and discovered an old lead repair on the roof, causing the fault. Tim removed the lead to find rust build-up that had resulted in a large hole opening in the roof sheet.
The rusted roof sheet was repaired with new sheet metal, and a new metal flashing was installed to cover the hole securely. The nearby decktite sealer was also repaired, which was affected by sun damage.

Our roof plumbing professional George attended a customer’s property at Box Hill after they reported a roof leak in the master bedroom. Talk about an unexpected emergency!
After reaching the property, George gained access to the roof and inspected the area. He found that the box gutters and rain heads were completely full of leafy debris. Upon further inspection of the top storey gutter, blockage along the downpipe and spreader sections was also noticed.
George got to work immediately and cleared away all leafy debris on the affected roof areas – inside box gutters, rain-heads, downpipes and all downpipe spreaders. He water-tested the downpipes to ensure there were no more blockages. All was flowing well!
He suggested to the customer that as the dwelling consisted of many box gutters, it was recommended that these are cleaned and checked at least every six months.
Gas Plumbing Canterbury
Tim and Angus from the Doherty Plumbing Solutions crew attended a gas plumbing call at Canterbury, where a customer was left frustrated by their hot water unit pilot light going our intermittently for a whole week.
On closer inspection, Tim and Angus zeroed in on the problem. They cleaned the burner assembly and found the thermocouple safety switch was past its prime, so it was replaced. Gas supply connections were tested and all was working fine.
