Johnny contacted our office, looking for urgent assistance to fix his leaking hydronic heating system. Our Master Plumber Brian was at Johnny’s property, to help rectify the plumbing issue.
On closer inspection, Brian located the leak on the plastic return line beneath the hot water system’s panel. Part of the tubing was broken, which needed an upgrade. The hot water flowing through the lines had made the existing plastic brittle and was subsequently cracking.
These supply lines should be either a copper pipe, or a heating-quality plastic. Brian discussed the options with the customer, and a copper section replacement was agreed as the way forward.
Brian got to work. New copper pipe sections were installed to the heater and checked for leaks. No further problems were detected.
